Boring

Unentertaining it is. There's nothing going on right now and nothing much I wanna blog about. Other than being plagued by bad dreams every night, nothing else exciting seems to be around the corner.

Brought my mum out for dinner last night. My mum as in the one who gave birth to me. We went to Holland Village for XO Bee Hoon Crab. Food was as usual good. She enjoyed the food much. Mmmm..this Sat might or might not head into JB. Lets see how the response is. "A's" friends that is. Sunday will be bringing my mum n brother to Hong Xin for Dim Sum. Other than that, nothing else. Working this Sat. Switched with my colleague. Cause of the problem we faced with the suspension here.

See there's nothing entertaining about me right now. I work, go home, eat dinner, watch tv and slump into bed. All in good order. Am so tired out everyday. Hectic hectic. Anyway, lunch break is ending soon. So will sign out here.

Tragedy

Its been busy I guess. Things are getting better at work. At least I have a better understanding of what I am doing now compared to before. But bad things happened at work and it was rather depressing.

One of my tanks exploded. A person died from 70% burns. Depressing is that not. For one, it wouldn't have affected me that much if it wasn't for the fact that it was too near for comfort. The tanks are kinda like just next to my office. The two huge tanks are between the main office and mine. Anyways we were just lucky it exploded just before everyone was due to arrive as we usually happily walk through that area to get to the main office as our shuttle lets us off at my side. To think that I would usually saunter pass that area and even pause and look at what they were doing.

Well, I guess life is that fragile and it takes something bad to make us realise it. Our company is in suspension at the moment cause of the death of the worker. Lots of problem for us..Lots of investigations as well....

Let me give a short account of the blast. There were tons of witnesses across the street from us. They gave a vivid account.

There were 2 explosions. First one rose like a mushroom cloud. When it fell back, that cause a 2nd explosion that was bigger than the first. It went wide. That's when he was burnt. Not sure what caused the explosion though. Witnesses saw him jumping into the drain next to the tanks. In the hopes of water. But unfortunately, there wasn't any. He climbed out again and rolled on the floor in a bid to rid the flames. A few of our drivers who saw what happened tried to help me but his flesh was dropping off. It was white in colour. They then brought him to the toilet to try to hose him down with water. After which he sat outside waiting for the ambulance to arrive all the while saying that its very painful and that he is going to die.

By the time we arrived, the ambulance had already taken him to the hospital. There were tons of firemen and policemen when I arrived. They were hosing the tanks and they didn't stop till 4plus in the afternoon. I counted more than 5 fire engines. My goodness. There were oil and water everywhere.

My drivers couldn't eat that night cause whatever they had seen was too vivid for them. I guess I would be too had I seen what they saw. Sad to say that he didn't survive but I for one am not sure which would have been better. 70% burnt. Thats difficult to survive.. let alone live with for the rest of his life. Its very sad cause he is from India and he was only 22 years old.

Gone just like that.

Anyways, I was shocked to discover the extent of the blast. Couldn't really see how bad the damage was till last wed when I walked by and saw all the bushes next to the bus stop totally burnt and brown. Ohhh...

We live after the aftermath. May his soul rest in peace. He believed in Sai baba so they got a priest from there to do some rites. Walked round my entire office.

I dunno how long we have to suspend our activities. Just lucky we still have our old premises to con't our work. Lucky there's the merger.

I didn't take any photos as I didn't want to disclose our premises and ya know la. We are not Exxonmobil. It happened on the same day but we were lucky theirs overrided ours. If not, I bet our name will be splashed everywhere like theirs.

Okies..back to work for me.... These days its just work work and work.
