barricaded
suntec was a dead town when i visited it during the IMF meet. but i was happy to walk the extra distance caused by the barricades cause i got to see the men in uniform at work. tt was exciting for me. ;-D ooppss!!! can't help it. it looked completely different from how it was usually. it kinda looked like ghost town. amazing how efficient we are. ahaahaahaaa.... anyway, as i walked along i took some pics as well to remember how singapore will look if there was a war or we were under some emergency stage.
the only thing tt softened the grey backdrops were the pretty flowers by the side of the road. it is amazing how much we spent on beautifying the city jus for the visitors. but the flowers were so friendly. friendlier than the 4 million smiles tt were supposed to welcome the visitors. haha. its a laugh. cause i do not really see anyone else smiling or being friendlier than usual. mmmm.... the propaganda didn't work.... after spending all tt effort.
but i will say tt it was good work. by the policemen who put in so many more hours of work, standing under the hot sun, braving the rain, stupid looks and remarks from silly people. we often hardly see them and how hard they work. we kinda take them for granted. yea. i am guilty of it as well. but seeing how tirelessly they stood everyday making sure that all's safe is amazing. A big thank you to all those who made it possible to maintain the peace and tranquility in Singapore.
i am not saying this cause of A. but i see them on the roads patrolling everyday. standing under the hot sun, and rain. i see them everyday for the past 2 weeks. yah. my office is jus there la. hehe..i actually got a kick seeing them. my fave. uniformed men!!!
all in all, i think we kept everyone safe during their meetin. it was a little more out of the way, more troublesome but for safety, i think its worth it. dun u think so? take a look round u. at the many countries and how unstable it is now. we are relatively safe n cushioned dun u think? we are lucky for we have a good government. so i say boo to those who are making so much noise abt wanting freedom of speech, democracy n blah blah blah ...
dun u recognise tt we would not be how we are today if not for our government? i say they are doing a good job.
there are loads to commend them for. but its too long winded to go into it. maybe one day i will record down wat i find good abt our government. but remember that they are humans too n they make mistakes. do not fault them for tt. they are not gods. yeps. humans, jus like u n me trying to do their best for the nation. give them credit for tt at least.
okies...tt said, its a busy day today. still have tons to do. ;-)
